Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is an American actor born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 15, 1986. He is best known for his roles on the television series The Get Down and the films Baywatch, The Greatest Showman, and Aquaman. Yahya initially went to school for architecture, but always wanted to be an actor. He went on to get a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama to work as a stage actor. In 2016 he landed his first role on television in the show The Get Down and was on 11 episodes on the show. He has also been in the shows The Handmaid’s Tale and Watchmen. In 2017 he made his debut in film in the movie The Vanishing of Sidney Hall and continued landing roles in films like Baywatch, The Greatest Showman, First Match, Boundaries, Aquaman, Us, All Day and a Night, and Sweetness in the Belly.
