ASAP Ferg

One of the members of the A$AP Mob, rapper A$AP Ferg was born Darold Ferguson, Jr., on October 20, 1988, in Harlem, New York. Following in the footsteps of his father, who printed designs on shirts and record labels for various artists, ASAP Ferg took up fashion and designed a line of belts that would later be seen on the likes of Swizz Beatz, Chris Brown, and Diggy Simmons. ASAP Ferg moved on to music, encouraged by his fellow rapper A$AP Rocky, who saw the talent in him. He debuted in 2012 with his single “Work”, which appeared on the A$AP Mob mixtape Lords Never Worry. The next year, he was signed to RCA Records and Polo Grounds, and a few months later, was honored at the BET Hip Hop Awards as the “Rookie of the Year”. ASAP Ferg released his debut album Trap Lord in the summer of 2013, which peaked at #2 on the U.S. Rap charts and at #4 on the U.S. R&B charts. ASAP Ferg later performed at the 2014 Roots Picnic in Philadelphia along with Snoop Dogg, The Roots, Action Bronson, and Janelle Monáe, among others.
