Valerie June
Valerie June is a singer and songwriter from the Bible Belt who plays a mixture of country, gospel, blues, soul, and folk, all with a unique voice and great showmanship. She was born oldest of five children in a family where dad was a gospel music promoter, so she got to learn the business from the inside out. By age 19 she’d moved to Memphis and begun recording and performing.
She’s currently signed to the Concord Music Group label. Valerie June was a featured MTV artist on their “$5 Cover” TV series. She has shared a stage with producer John Forté and artist Jake Bugg, and collaborated with Dan Auerbach of the band The Black Keys. She’s played at SXSW and other venues. Her quirky, roots-rock style has made her a cult hit on top-40 charts internationally.
