Una Healy

Una Healy, born Una Theresa Imogene Healy on October 10th, 1981 in Thurles, Ireland is an Irish singer, songwriter, and TV personality that taught herself music and how to play the guitar at the age of 13. She also learned how to write her own lyrics at this time. She began her music career at the age of 23 by singing in pubs and clubs around Ireland. In 2004 Una won Ireland’s Glinsk Song Contest. She won it again in 2006.  Una went on to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006.

In 2007 Una moved to London to gain more exposure for her music. She was asked to audition for an all-girls group called The Saturdays and ended up making the cut.  The group released their first single “If This Is Love” in 2008.  The single peaked at number 8 on the UK Singles Chart. Their second single, “Up” charted in at number five and was certified silver in the UK.  The Saturdays released their first studio album, Chasing Lights in 2008. The album charted in at number 9 and was certified Platinum in the same year. The group would go on to release 11 more Top 10 singles and 3 more Top 10 albums up to 2013. In 2015 Una released her solo album The Waiting Game.
