Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry was born on September 13, 1969 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He wrote his first play in 1992, which funded his first movie, Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Madea’s Family Reunion made him a star. Perry went on to star in Daddy’s Little Girls, Why Did I Get Married?, Meet the Browns, The Family That Preys and Madea Goes to Jail. He had a small role in the relaunch of Star Trek and wrote, directed, starred in I Can Do Bad All By Myself in 2009. He toured with a stage version of Madea’s Big Happy Family. He also starred in the movie Good Deeds. He also appeared in Alex Cross, Gone Girl, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor and Tyler Perry Presents Peeples. His Madea series continued with A Madea Christmas and Boo! A Madea Halloween. He also starred in the animated story The Star.

Perry’s television series House of Payne ran for eight seasons and he later directed Meet the Browns.
