Theodore Melfi

Theodore Melfi was born in 1971 in Brooklyn, New York. He is a film director and screenwriter. Theodore’s debut film was Winding Roads (1999) where he was a director and writer. He has since gone on to work on small films such as The Story of Bob, The Beneficiary, Roshambo, I Want Candy and St. Vincent. Theodore was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Picture Musical in 2014 for his directing role in St. Vincent.  But it wasn’t until Hidden Figures (2017) that he became a household name. He was nominated for Oscar Awards for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay in 2017 for Hidden Figures.
