The Eagles

The Eagles

Originally formed in Los Angeles, California, the founding members of the iconic group The Eagles were Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Meisner, and Bernie Leadon. All four were very involved in the music industry before forming the group, as they had worked as backup singers for Linda Ronstadt. Getting serious about their career, the band recorded and released their debut album Eagles in 1972, which went Platinum in the United States and Silver in the U.K. Riding on the coattails of that success, they went on to release Desperado the next year, which went double Platinum in the United States.

After a short stint, Bernie Leadon left the group and was replaced by Joe Walsh, who joined just in time for the recording and release of the band’s fifth album Hotel California. The album did incredibly well internationally, and sold more than 16 million copies internationally thanks to hits such as “Hotel California” and “Life in the Fast Lane”. They released the 1979 album The Long Run a few years after they split up, but they returned to the studio to record and release the 2007 album Long Road Out of Eden, which debuted as #1 on the Billboard chart and helped them win their 5th Grammy award for the song “How Long”.
