Tarkan

Tarkan was born on October 17, 1972 in Alzey, West Germany. He is a German-Turkish singer best known to English audiences for his 1998 hit Şımarık. He moved to Turkey as a teenager to begin his singing career. There, he studied classical music in Istanbul and was discovered while working in the city’s bars and clubs. Wildly successful in Turkey, where he is known as the Prince of Turkish Pop, he achieved international success with his single Şımarık, which was later performed in English by Holly Valance, reaching number one in the UK charts. His latest music video, Yolla, was released in June 2017 and has amassed over 143 million views on YouTube.
