Rapper Skepta was born Joseph Junior Adenuga on September 19, 1982 in North London, England. He began his music career as a DJ for the Meridian Crew and released a few instrumental songs. He founded Boy Better Know with Wiley and JME.

His debut album, “Greatest Hits,” was released in September 2007 under Boy Better Know. His first single, “Rolex Sweep,” was released in September 2008 and peaked at number 89 on the UK Singles chart. His second album, “Microphone Champion,” was released in June 2009 and his next single, “Too Many Man,” which featured JME, Wiley, Frisco, and Shorty, reached number 79 on the UK Singles chart. His third album, “Doin’ It Again,” was released in January 2011 after he signed with AATW. It reached number two on the UK Albums chart and number seven on the UK Download chart. His single, “Rescue Me,” peaked at number fourteen on the UK Singles chart. After two singles were released with less than stellar reviews in 2012, Skepta decided to release a mixtape entitled “Blacklisted” instead of a fourth studio album. In 2014, he released the single, “That’s Not Me,” with JME. It reached number 21 on the UK Singles chart and won the award for Best Video at the 2014 MOBO Awards. He performed with Kanye West during a surprise show in London in 2015 and was named one of “GQ’s” 2015 50 Best Dressed British Men.
