Born in February 14, 1972, Robert Kelly Thomas came from Landstuhl, West Germany, but was raised in Florida, United States. He is the lead singer of the band Matchbox Twenty. Rob Thomas blended ‘70s rock music with ‘90s post-grunge crunch. In 1996, the band released their “Push,” then released more singles soon after. They became known on various radio station. Their debut LP “Yoy=urself or Someone Like You” won platinum 12 times in the US.

Thomas won several songwriting awards for songs like “Real World,” “If You’re Gone,” “Bent,” and “Mad Season.” He went solo and released his single “Lonely No More” in 2005. Then, his chart topping “Something to Be” was released that same year. Thomas reunited with Matchbox Twenty in 2007, releasing “Exile on Mainstream.” His second solo “Cradlesong” debuted in Billboard 200. His third solo “The Great Unknown” was released in 2015.
