Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais was born on June 25, 1961 in Reading, England. He started his career as a pop star, working first as a singer and then as a manger. He had two shows, The 11 O’Clock Show and Meet Ricky Gervais before shooting to fame for his role in the British series The Office, which won him a Golden Globe. He also starred in and directed Extras in 2005, which won him a Primetime Emmy Award. He also had an animated show called The Ricky Gervais Show, which aired on HBO starting in 2010. He produced and wrote Life’s Too Short, An Idiot Abroad and Derek. He performed several stand-up routines throughout the 2000s and lent his voice to the animated series, The Simpsons, Legend of the Lost Tribe and Family Guy. He hosted the Golden Globes four times and appeared in David Blaine: Real or Magic. He has also hosted several talk shows.
