Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts

Country band Rascal Flatts was originally formed by cousins Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus in the late 1990s in Nashville, Tennessee. Though the two were involved in separate projects whose paths occasionally intersected, they were eventually brought together and joined by Joe Don Rooney when a guitarist that the cousins were playing with did not show up for a gig. Their debut single “Prayin’ for Daylight” was released in 2000, reaching #3 on the Billboard Country chart, just before they released their self-titled album that year.

Rascal Flatts would go on to release Melt in 2002, featuring their #1 single “These Days”, followed by Feels Like Today in 2004, which included their hit single “Bless the Broken Road”. It was their fourth album Me and My Gang, however, that garnered the most success out of the releases thus far with sales of 3.5 million. They followed it with Still Feels Good in 2007, a greatest hits album in 2008, and Unstoppable in 2009. The band has since had the opportunity to tour with Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bently, Keith Urban, and a handful of other major country stars. Rascal Flatts was honored at the 2005 CMT Music Awards for Group/Duo of the Year, as well as the CMA Vocal Group of the Year.
