Peter Capaldi

Peter Capaldi was born on April 14, 1958 in Glasgow, Scotland. He started out attending drama classes in his youth, which prepared him for his acceptance in the Glasgow School of Art. Upon his graduation he received his breakthrough role in the film Local Hero (1983). He starred in numerous roles over the years, frequenting BBC productions throughout his career. Notably he had the role of Malcom Tucker in BBC’s The Thick of It from 2005-2012. This role landed him awards for Male Performance in a Comedy Role (2010) at the BAFTA Television Awards, and Best TV Comedy Actor (2010, 2012) at the British Comedy Awards. Since, his popularity soared further with his role in Doctor Who from 2013 onward.
