Newsboys

Newsboys

The Christian pop/rock band Newsboys initiated in 1985 in Queensland, formed by Peter Furler and his friend George Perdikis. They were later joined by John James and Sean Taylor, and eventually released the album Read All About It in 1998 after they were signed with Refuge Communications. The early 1990s saw the release of Hell Is for Wimps and Boys Will Be Boyz, yet it was not until the release of their fourth album Not Ashamed in 1992 that they gained recognition in the Christian Music arena. Newsboys continually changed their lineup with the release of their albums, and with their fifth album Going Public they won a Dove Award in 1995 for Rock Album of the Year.
Between 1988 and 2013, Newsboys would release 17 albums, and as of 2014, their lineup was comprised of the quartet Jody Davis, Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein, and Michael Tait, none of which were the founding members, as many of the band mates left to pursue solo careers.
