Mr Hudson
Mr Hudson, born Benjamin Hudson Mclldowie on Jun 26th, 1979 in Birmingham, England is a singer and songwriter based out of the U.K. After attending Oxford University he formed the bands Mansize, The Hudson Sound, and Phoenix Green. The bands Hudson Sound and Phoenix Green achieved local success.
In 2006 he formed a new group called Mr Hudson and the Library. The Library consisted of Maps Huxley, Wilkie Wilkinson, Joy Joseph, and Torville Jones while Benjamin took on the moniker of Mr Hudson. They released their first EP through the label Deal Real in 2006 called Bread and Roses. The group was picked up by Amy Winehouse in 2007 for a tour for her debut album and was also featured on the TV show “Later with Jools Holland.”
In 2009 Mr Hudson received an offer from Kanye West to produce his album 808’s and Heartbreak and was featured on the song “Paranoid.” Kanye then signed him to his G.O.O.D. Music label and Mr Hudson released his second album on the label called Straight No Chaser. The next year Mr Hudson appeared on the Jay-Z single “Young Forever” which reached the top 10 on the charts in both the U.S. and U.K. In 2013 Mr Hudson released a new single called “Fred Astaire” on SoundCloud.
