Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher is a retired German racing driver born in Hurth, West Germany on January 3, 1969. He raced in Formula One for Jordan Grand Prix, Benetton, Mercedes, and Ferrari. Schumacher is considered to be one of the greatest Formula One Drivers of all time. He is the only driver in history to win seven Formula One World Championships. He holds the record for most World Championship titles with 7, most Grand Prix wins with 91, most races won in a single season with 13, most fastest laps and many more. Schumacher has been winning titles since he was karting as a child. He made his debut in Formula One with the Joran-Ford team at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix. He joined Ferrari in 1996 and raced with them until he retired in 2006. After winning the 2006 Italian Grand Prix he announced he would be retiring at the end of the 2006 season. In 2010 it was announced that he would be returning to Formula One with the Mercedes GP team. He ended his career after 21 years after the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix, where he finished 7th. There have been a number of books written about Schumacher throughout his career. In 2006 he voiced a character in the animated film Cars.
