Michael Emerson

Michael Emerson is an American actor born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 7, 1954. He is best known for his roles in the shows The Practice, Lost, and Person of Interest and for his role in the horror film Saw. After college he moved to New York to pursue an acting career. He appeared in local productions at Theater Jacksonville and The Player by the Sea. He has since had roles in theater productions on and off Broadway, including Hamlet, The Tempest, A Christmas Carol, The Iceman Cometh, Hedda Gabler, Love Letters, Tartuffe, Frequency Hopping, Wakey, Wakey and many more. In 1990 he made his debut on television in the television movie Orpheus Descending and continued landing roles in the television movies and shows Stark Raving Mad, The District, The Practice, The X-Files, Whoopi, The Inside, Lost, Parenthood, Arrow, Evil, Claws, Person of Interest and others. Emerson made his debut in film in 1997 in the movie The Journey and has also had roles in the films The Impostors, Playing by Heart, Unfaithful, Saw, Saw II, The Legend of Zorro, Saw 3D, Straight-Jacket, For Love of the Game, I’ll Take You There, 29th and Gay and more. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Saturn Award and others.
