Masahiro Tanaka

Masahiro Tanaka was born in Itami, Japan on November 1, 1988. He played for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles and debuted on 2007 as the starter pitcher. He also won the Pacific League Most Valuable Player award in the same year. He was part of the Japanese team in the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing. He also represented Japan in the 2009 and the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

He debuted on April 2014 with the New York Yankees as the No. 2 starting pitcher.

He was named American League Pitcher of the Month on May 2014. In the same year, he became part of the American League All-Star. In 2018, Tanaka is one if the players from the Yankees to make it to the finalist of the Rawlings Gold Glove award.
