Martha Higareda

Martha Higareda, born Martha Elba Higareda Cervantes, on August the 24th 1983 in Tabasco, Mexico and is a Mexican actress, screenwriter and producer. The daughter of an actress, she began acting professionally at the age of  nineteen with her role as Renata in Amarte Duele. Working mainly in film, she has starred in hits such as Borderland, Ninas Mal and the animated film La leyenda de la Nahuala.

More recently, the actress has held roles in television with Carlos, the French miniseries In which she played Amparo. She then held a role in the American drama series Royal Pains, alongside Mark Feuerstein and Jill Flint. Best known internationally for her part in Netflix’s hit television role Altered Carbon, in which she plays Kristin Ortega alongside actors such as Dichen Lachman and Ato Essandoh.
