Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and was a founding member of The Commodores. The Commodores signed a record deal with Motown records. Lionel made his mark with the Commodores as a songwriter, pianist and vocalist, writing ‘Three Times a Lady’, ‘Stuck on You’ and ‘Lady’ His first single solo was ’Endless Love’ which he sang with Diana Ross. Lionel won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for ‘Say You (Say Me)’ His single in 1986 ‘Dancing On The Ceiling’ became an R&B classic and the famous ‘We are the World’ was co-written with Michael Jackson. Lionel Richie has been a celebrity judge on American Idol.  Lionel released his album Coming Home in 2006. In 2012 he made and album of duets after returning to his hometown of Tuskegee, with the likes of Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw and more. This album became one of his biggest hits yet. In 2013 he went on the ‘All the Hits, All Night Long’ tour.
