Jalen Rose

Jalen Rose is an American former professional basketball player and current sports analyst for ESPN born in Detroit, Michigan on January 30, 1973. He is the co-founder of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy. Rose played college basketball at the University of Michigan and was a member of the “Fab Five.” In 1994 he was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round, 13th overall, in the 1994 NBA Draft. Throughout his professional basketball career Rose played for the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks, and the Phoenix Suns. Rose retired from professional basketball in 2007 after the Suns were eliminated from the 2007 NBA Playoffs. He started his career in media after retiring in 2007 and has worked at ABC/ESPN. He has been on the shows SportsCenter, NBA Countdown, and Grantland. He is a host and co-host on the sports radio shows Jalen & Jacoby and Get Up!. In 2015 he released his debut book titled Got to Give the People What They Want. The book became a New York Times Bestseller.
