Hobo Johnson

Frank Lopes Jr. was born on Loomis, California on December 22, 1994. He gained attention due to the video series Live From Oak Park featuring Derek Lynch. One of the tracks he sang at the show is “Romeo and Juliet” which is from his album The Rise of Hobo Johnson. He wrote and produced the album in 2015.

He recorded “Peach Scone” with his band The Lovemakers. This served as their entry for the 2018 NPR Tiny Desk Contest, and the track became quite a hit, generating 10 million streams. The popularity of the track catapulted his album to No. 11 of the Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and No. 8 of the iTunes Hip-Hop chart.

Johnson went on tour in Europe and America, and he is also bound for Australia. Five songs from his album made it to Spotify’s Global Viral 50, US Viral 50, UK Viral 50, among others.
