Geno Atkins

Geno Atkins is an American professional football player born in Pembroke Pines, Florida on March 28, 1988. He is currently a defensive tackle for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. Atkins played football in high school at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He went on to play college football at the University of Georgia for the Georgia Bulldogs football team from 2007 to 2009. In 2010 he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round, 120th overall, in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year rookie contract for $3.20 million with a signing bonus of $472,450. Atkins made his NFL debut in the Bengals’ season opener against the New England Patriots. In 2013 he signed a five-year contract extension worth $53.32 million with a signing bonus of $15 million and in 2018 he signed a four-year contract extension with the Bengals worth $65.3 million. Throughout his NFL career he has recorded 335 tackles, 71 sacks, 6 pass deflections, 8 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 defensive touchdown.
