G-Eazy

G-Eazy was born on May 24, 1989 and raised in Oakland, California. Born Gerald Earl Gillum, he attended Loyola University New Orleans and received his degree in Music Industry Studies in 2011. G-Eazy first broke into the hip-hop scene around Oakland in 2007 with Lil B and The Cataracs. His first local group named Bay Boyz featured a number of songs on their Myspace page. He continued his success on Myspace with songs like Waspy and Candy Girl and won the NAACP Best Music on Campus Woodie award in 2009. G-Eazy got a great break and was chosen to open for Drake in 2010 as well as Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.

From there he produced and released his mixtape The Endless Summer, which featured an astounding version of the 1961 hit Runaround Sue in 2011. Also that year he was chosen to be the opening act for Shwayze. In 2012 he laid it out at every stop of the Summer Warped Tour in the US. More recently, G-Eazy has performed on the road with MMG’s Rockie Fresh and Tory Lanez in early 2014. G-Eazy has also released another mixtape on the BPG, RVG, RED Distribution label entitled These things Happen, which is now available on CD and digital download.
