Fred Willard

Fred Willard is an American actor, voice actor, writer, and comedian born in Shaker Heights, Ohio on September 18, 1939. He is best known for his improvisational comedy and for his roles in the films This Is Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, Best in Show, Mascots, For Your Consideration, and the Anchorman films. Willard is an alumnus of The Second City comedy troupe and a founding member of the improvisational comedy group Ace Trucking Company. In 1966 he made his debut on television in the show Pistols ’n’ Petticoats and continued landing roles in the shows Get Smart, Karen, Good heavens, Fernwood 2 Night, Tabitha, Mama’s Family, D.C. Follies, Out of This World, The Golden Girls, Step by Step, Mad About You, Girlfriends, Maybe It’s Me, Everybody Loves Raymond, Back to You, Modern Family and more. He made his debut in film in 1967 in the movie Teenage Mother and has since had roles in the films Jenny, Hustle, Fun with Dick and Jane, High Strung, Best in Show, The Wedding Planner, Killer Diller, Date Movie, Church Ball, Epic Movie, Youth in Revolt, Fifty Shades of Black and others. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won a Daytime Emmy Award, an American Comedy Award, a Boston Society of Film Critics Award and more.
