Darrelle Revis

Darrelle Revis is a former American football cornerback born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania on July 14, 1985. He played football in high school at Aliquippa High School in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. In 2003 he was named the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review 2003 Player of the Year, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 2003 WPIAL Class AA Player of the Year, and 2003 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette “Fabulous 22.” He went on to play college football at the University of Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Panthers football team from 2004 to 2007. In 2007 he was selected by the New York Jets in the first round, 14th overall, in the 2007 NFL Draft. In 2013 he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and signed a 6-year contract for $96 million, which made him the highest paid defensive back in NFL history. In 2014 the Buccaneers released Revis, making him a free agent. He signed a one-year contract on March, 12, 2014, with the New England Patriots for $12 million. With the Patriots he became a Super Bowl champion after the Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX. In 2015 he signed a five-year contract with the New York Jets for $70 million with $39 million guaranteed. He was released by the Jets in 2017 and that same year signed a two-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs for $11 million. He was released after six games and in 2018 announced his retirement. Throughout his 11 seasons in the NFL Revis recorded 497 tackles, 2 sacks, 29 interceptions, 6 forced fumbles, 140 pass deflections, and 3 defensive touchdowns.
