Dame Esther Louise Rantzen

Dame Esther Louise Rantzen was born on the 22nd of June 1940 in Hertfordshire and is a British journalist, television presenter and digital influencer. Coming to prominence by presenting the BBC television series That’s Life! For over twenty years, and is well known for her philanthropic efforts, establishing two charities, The Silver Line and ChildLine.

After That’s Life Ended, the presenter hosted her own talk show, Esther, which ran from 1996 to 2002 and was critically acclaimed. She then went on to work with BBC again, in their television shows of Excuse My French and is most recently known for creating the program How to Have a Good Death, a show that covered palliative care, and was considered a landmark show for the BBC. Well known online thanks to her Twitter account, she is known for her strong social stances.
