Corrosion Of Conformity

Corrosion Of Conformity

Corrosion of Conformity (often abbreviated “C.O.C.”) is an alternative metal band with a career spanning four decades. They were one of the first to pioneer punk-metal fusion, but their sound has evolved from hardcore punk to southern metal. They started out with Mike Dean (vocals, bass), Woody Weatherman (guitar), and Reed Mullin (drums); in addition to the founding members, their current line-up includes Pepper Keenan (rhythm guitar).
Corrosion Of Conformity released their first album, “Eye for an Eye,” in 1984 on the Caroline label, and have so far released ten studio albums. Their highest-charting singles are “Albatross” (1994) and “Clean My Wounds” (1995), both at #19 on the Billboard US Mainstream chart. The band has shared members at one time or another with the bands Down, Pantera, Crowbar, and Leadfoot. They cite musical influences from Black Flag to Black Sabbath.
