Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave

Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave is an American drummer and composer born in Houston, Texas on November 8, 1973. He had a love for playing the drums from a young age and was influenced by jazz artists like Miles Davis and John Coltrane. He started playing the drums in church and eventually graduated from Kinder High School for the Performing Arts in Houston, Texas. He went to collage at Howard University in Washington D.C. where he met the producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. He started playing with the R&B band Mint Condition and with the group released the albums From the Mint Factory, Definition of a Band, and Life’s an Aquarium. He has also performed on a number of other albums, including Comfort Woman by Me’shell Ndegeocello, 21 by Adele, Mister Nice Guy by Eric Roberson, New Orleans by PJ Morton, Purpose by Justin Bieber, Forevermore and Anata by Hikaru Utada, Fever by Black Milk and a number of other albums. He became an influential drummer in hip-hop, jazz, and gospel.
