Chris August
Chris August Megert was born on March 20, 1982 in Garland Texas. His dad built him a studio at home and August converted to Christianity shortly after.
August produced his first album on his own and named it A Beautiful Thing. This album got him some attention, and he ended up getting in contact with popular singer Jessica Simpson’s father, who helped August land a contract in Los Angeles with Geffen Records. Even though this contract did not work out, he was able to gain some experience producing for and performing with Jessica Simpson and her sister, Ashlee.
August released No Far Away, The Upside of Down, and The Maker, which were each Christian-based albums. In 2011, he hit the jackpot at the GMA Dove Awards when he won New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. He was also nominated for two other awards at that ceremony, including Song of the Year for his song Starry Night.
