Casey Hayward is an American professional football player born in Perry, Georgia on September 9, 1989. He is currently a cornerback for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League. He played football in high school at Perry High School in Perry, Georgia where he played as a quarterback and cornerback. He went on to play college football at Vanderbilt University where he was named second-team All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation. In 2012 he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round, 62 overall, in the 2012 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year contract with Packers for $3.3 million with $1.03 million guaranteed and a $847,208 signing bonus. He made his professional NFL debut on October 7, 2012 in the Packer’s season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. In 2016 he became a free agent and signed a three-year contract with the San Diego Chargers for $15.3 million with $6.8 million guaranteed and a $2.5 million signing bonus. In 2018 he signed a three-year extension contract with the Chargers. Throughout his NFL career he has recorded 311 tackles, 85 pass deflections, 20 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 touchdowns.
