Cameron Wake

Cameron Wake is an American professional football player born in Beltsville, Maryland on January 30, 1982. He is currently an outside linebacker for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. Wake played high school football at DeMatha High School in Hyattsville, Maryland for the Stags. In 1999 he was named the Washington Post Defensive Player of the Year. He went on to play college football at Pennsylvania State University for the Penn State Nittany Lions football team. After college he joined the New York Giants in 2005 but was released that same year. In 2007 he signed as a free agent with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. The first week of the 2007 season he was named Defensive Player of the Week. In 2009 he signed a four-year contract with the Miami Dolphins and played his debut game in the NFL in the fourth week of the 2009 season against the Buffalo Bills. In 2012 he signed a four-year extension contract with the Dolphins for $49 million with $20 million guaranteed and in 2017 signed a two-year extension contract with the Dolphins. In 2019 he signed a three-year contract with the Tennessee Titans for $23 million. Throughout his CFL career he recorded 137 tackles, 39 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 1 touchdown. Throughout his NFL career he recorded 360 tackles, 98 sacks, 22 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 interception.
