Billy Porter
Billy Porter is an American theater, film, and television actor, and a pop singer, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 21, 1969. His career started in theatre in 1991 in the production of Miss Saigon, he has also been in the productions of Grease, Songs for a New World, Jesus Christ Superstar, Dreamgirls, Little Shop of Horrors, Kinky Boots, Angels in America, and numerous others. His work in theater earned him multiple awards, including a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical, a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, and others. He made his debut into on screen acting in the film Twisted and has been in other films and television series like, Anastasia, Law & Order, So You Think You Can Dance, Noel, Pose, and more. For his role in Pose he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Critics Choice Television Award. As a musician he has released several albums, including Billy Porter, At the Corner of Broadway + Soul, Bill’s Back on Broadway, and Billy Porter Presents the Soul of Richard Rodgers.
