Frederick Ross, otherwise known as Big Freddia is best known for the unique New Orleans hip-hop style, bounce music. Credited with popularising the lesser-known genre over time, her mainstream exposure came in 2010 for her album Big Freedia Hitz Vol.1.
Described by the New Orleans Times-Picayune as a n overnight sensation, she was named Best Emerging Artist in the Best of the Beat Awards. Her ongoing success continued with roués with The Postal Service. With four studio albums, eight singles and many notable collaborations with artists such as Beyonce, RuPaul, Elliphant and Diplo. Big Freedia also moonlights as an Interior designer from time to time and is notable for her unique music style. She is also a modern gay icon.
