Astrix

Astrix is the stage name of the Israeli trance DJ Avi Shmailov. He was born in USSR, Caucasus on December 5, 1981 and grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 1995 he started working as a DJ and in 1997 he started making music under the name Astrix. In 2002 he was signed to the EDM label HOMmega and released his debut album Eye To Eye. He has since released four more studio albums with HOMmega, including Artcore, One Step Ahead, Red Means Distortion, and He.art. Avi has also released a number of EPs like Coolio, Coolio (12”), Closer To Heaven, Future Music EP, Acid Rocker EP, Reunion, Type 1, Stars on 35, and High On Mel. He has also released several compilation albums. Astrix tours around the world playing massive festivals like EDC Vegas, Burning Man, Beyond Wonderland and Summer Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Weekend Festival, Inox, and others.
