Asa Butterfield

Asa Butterfield was born on April 1, 1997 in London, England. Butterfield took a keen interest on acting from an early age and joined the Young Actors’ Theatre in Islington, London at the age of 7. He appeared in a television film in 2006 called After Thomas and also had a small role in the film Son of Rambow (2006). This led to a guest role in 2008 as Donny in Ashes to Ashes. Later that year, Butterfield landed the lead role in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (2008).

That role proved to be Butterfield’s breakout role as his performance earned him lead roles in Hugo and Ender’s Game. He has appeared in several other films throughout his career most notably, X+Y (2014), Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016), and The Space Between Us (2017).
