Amir Obé is an American rapper, singer, record producer, and songwriter born in Detroit, Michigan on August 26, 1989. He has gained a large following posting his music to SoundCloud. His career started in 2009 under the stage name Phreshy Duzit and was signed to the label Atlantic Records. He left the label and joined the collective Neighborhood PHCK$ and started releasing music under the name Amir Obé. Obé released his first EP in 2011 titled Brave New World. He gained a large following in 2014 after releasing the mixtape Detrooklyn and followed it up in 2015 with the EP Happening in the Grey Area and Won’t Find Love in the Hills in 2016. In December 2016 he signed with the label Def Jam and in 2017 released the EP None of the Clocks Work with the label. He has also been featured on songs like “Wrong One/Reflection” by Gov, “Lost in Detroit” by Previn Jones, and “I Got It” by Klepto Magz. Obé has a substantial following on Instagram and Twitter with 55k followers on Instagram and 44k followers on Twitter.
