Typhoon

Typhoon is an indie rock band which packs an orchestra numbering up to twelve members at a time, for a symphonic sound brought to a folk mentality. The front-man Kyle Morton (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard) is the chief songwriter. Their sophomore album “Hunger and Thirst” (2010) attracted a huge amount of critical attention as a concept album and showpiece.

Typhoon is principally a touring act, often seen supporting artists such as Yann Tiersen and The Decemberists, whom they resemble. They have shared a stage with artists including Belle & Sebastian, Explosions in the Sky, and The Dandy Warhols. They have toured Lollapalooza, Sasquatch, and Newport Folk Fest, in addition to appearing on “Late Night With David Letterman.” Their most recent studio album, “Offerings” (2018) hit #1 on the Billboard US Heatseekers and #3 on the Billboard US Indie charts.
