Tom Waits
Tom Waits was born in Pomona, California on Dec 7, 1949. Closing Time, his debut album, was released in 1973. The year after, he released The Heart of Saturday Night.
He received a Grammy award for Best Alternative Album for Bone Machine which was released in 1992.
Other albums include Small Change, Foreign Affairs, Blue Valentine, Heartattack and Vine, Swordfishtrombones, Rain Dogs, Franks Wild Years, The Black Rider, Blood Money, Alice, and Real Gone.
His most recent album is Bad as Me in 2011. In 1999, his album Mule Variations won a Grammy award for the Best Contemporary Folk Album and one of the songs “Hold On” received a nomination for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. His most recent nomination was for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for “Metropolitan Guide.”
Since 1978, Waits appeared in various films and shows.
