The Lone Bellow

Comprised of Zach Williams on guitar, Kanene Donehey Pipkin on mandolin, and Brian Elmquist on guitar, the Brooklyn-based group The Lone Bellow got together officially in 2010 when they performed almost spontaneously at a diner where Elquist was working. After giving a stellar performance, they decided to get serious and pursue a career in music as a trio. This came following a major tragedy in Williams’ life, when his wife was thrown from a horse, temporarily paralyzed, but managed to recover. During this time, Zach Williams tried his hand at songwriting, and what he wrote serves much of the inspiration for the lyrics the group would later sing.

The trio signed a contract with Descendant Records, and later released their self-titled debut album in 2013. The Lone Bellow holds close friendly ties with the Grammy-nominated group The Civil Wars, who was instrumental in getting them venues where they could play and introducing them to other performers. Their album eventually peaked at #64 on the Billboard 200 chart.
