Sheldon Richardson

Sheldon Richardson is an American professional football player born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 29, 1990. He is currently a defensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. He played football in high school at Gateway Institute of Technology High School for the Gateway Jaguars high school football team. He went on to play college football at the University of Missouri for the Missouri Tigers from 2011 to 2012. In 2013 he was selected by the New York Jets in the first round, 13th overall, in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year contract with the Jets for $10.05 million with a signing bonus of $5.69 million. Richardson won the 2013 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. In 2017 he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks and played with them for the 2017 season. He signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings in 2018 and in 2019 signed a three-year contract with the Cleveland Browns for $36 million with $21 million guaranteed. Throughout his NFL career he has recorded 333 total tackles, 23.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, and 2 touchdowns.
