Sharon Needles

Sharon Needles is an American drag performer and musician born as Aaron Coady in Newton, Iowa on November 28, 1981. In 2004 he made the move to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to pursue a career in performing in drag professionally. Needles came into the spotlight when she appeared on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in and quickly became a favorite of the fans winning the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and gaining attention from celebrities like Lady Gaga. In 2012 the Pittsburgh City Council declared June 12, 2012, as “Sharon Needles Day” and in 2015 was voted “Best Drag Performer” of Pittsburgh by the Pittsburgh City Paper. In 2013 Needles released her debut album PG-13, which reached number 186 on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold 3,000 copies in its first week of release. Her second album was released in 2015 titled Taxidermy with the single “Dracula” and “Hollywoodn’t.” She released a third album in 2017, Battle Axe that had a single with the same name and “Andy Warhol Is Dead” as the second single.
