Nick Lachey, whose full name is Nicholas Scott Lachey, was born on November 9, 1973, in Harlan, Kentucky. He rose to fame as a member of the four-piece boy band 98 Degrees, active from 1997 to 2003. The band gained attention for hits such as “Because of You” and “The Hardest Thing”, and wound up selling more than 10 million records during their run. In the fall of 2003, Nick Lachey released his debut solo album SoulO, which did not perform as well as he would have liked on the charts. He followed it with his second album What’s Left of Me in 2006, which was certified Gold and featured the popular title track. In 2009, Nick Lachey produced a musical reality show titled Taking the Stage, which premiered on MTV. As an addition to his singing career, he has also appeared in a number of television series, including appearances on American Dreams, Charmed, Hope & Faith, and One Tree Hill.
