Misty Copeland

Misty Copeland is a California-based actress and dancer. Born in Missouri, Misty began ballet lessons at the late age of thirteen, and at fifteen she won 1st place at the Music Spotlight Awards. She studied ballet at both the San Francisco Ballet School, and the American Ballet Theater’s Summer Intensive. In 2015, Copeland became the first African American to become a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theater’s corps de ballet.

As an actress, Copeland has played in 2015’s A Ballerina’s Tale and 2016’s Michael Jackson’s Journey From Motown To Off the Wall. Her autobiography has became a New York Time’s best seller, and she has received endorsements from American Express, Coach, and Diet Dr Pepper.
