Mark Tremonti

Mark Tremonti

Mark Tremonti is the lead guitarist of the alternative metal band Alter Bridge, as well as the guitarist and vocalist of his own solo act, Tremonti. Prior to that, he was the lead guitarist for the Christian rock band, Creed.

Tremonti was born in Detroit, Michigan and started playing guitar at the age of 11. He moved with his family to Orlando, Florida at 15, where he eventually met future bandmate and Creed vocalist, Scott Stapp. Creed was formed in 1993 and released four studio albums (3 award-winning albums, including 1999’s Human Clay) over the span of 16 years.

After Creed’s dissolution in 2004, Tremonti and Creed bandmates Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums) recruited guitarist/vocalist Myles Kennedy and formed Alter Bridge. His time with Alter Bridge allowed Tremonti to explore ground with his guitar playing, exhibited on the albums One Day Remains (2004) and Blackbird (2007).
It was after the third Alter Bridge album, AB III¬ (2010) that Tremonti and the rest of the band decided to focus on their own solo projects. He released his first album as Tremonti in 2012 (All I Was) and returned to Alter Bridge to record their fourth album, Fortress (2014). This was followed by another successful solo release in 2015, Cauterize.
