Mark Daniel Ronson, a musician, producer, and DJ, was born in England on September 4, 1975. After attending college in New York, Mark Ronson began performing as a DJ in various clubs beginning in the early 1990s. He gained attention on the local scene, which then expanded as he became one of New York’s most reputable DJs for his combination of genres. Soon after, he appeared in an ad for the Tommy Hilfiger clothing line, and his popularity took off. In the early 2000s, Mark Ronson signed to Elektra Records, and later released his debut album Here Comes the Fuzz in 2003. He collaborated with artists such as Jack White, Mos Def, Nappy Roots, and Sean Paul during this production, and the leading single became “Ooh Wee”, which was used in the movie Honey. Mark Ronson formed Allido Records in 2004, a year after gaining a spot at Suede, Justin Timberlake’s club. He would go on to release the albums Version in 2007 and Record Collection in 2010. As of 2013, Mark Ronson has received four Grammy Awards, including the 2008 Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical.
