Luol Deng

Luol Ajou Deng was born on April 16, 1985. He is a Sudanese-born British professional basketball player from Wau, Sudan (now known as South Sudan). Luol plays the small forward for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He attended high school at Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey. He played college basketball for Duke from 2003 to 2004. Afterwards, he was drafted in the 2004 first round NBA draft (7th overall) by the Phoenix Suns.

Luol has played for many NBA teams including the Chicago Bulls (2004–2014), Cleveland Cavaliers (2014), and the Miami Heat (2014–2016) before signing with the Los Angeles Lakers. His playing career started at 2004 and since then he has won NBA All-Star twice (2012–2013), NBA All-Defensive Second Team (2012), NBA All-Rookie First Team (2005), NBA Sportsmanship Award (2007), J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award (2014) and USBWA National Freshman of the Year (2004).
