Lana Wachowski

Lana Wachowski was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 21, 1965.  She won the Deauville Film Festival Jury Special Prize for her work on Bound in 1996. The film also won the International Fantasy Film Award from Fantasporto in 1997.

She won the Saturn Award for Best Director and Jupiter Award for Best International Film for Matrix in 1999. Assassin(s) won the Honorable Mention from Stockholm Film Festival in 1997.

She directed the Matrix film series, as well as the video game, Enter the Matrix, The Matrix Online, and The Matrix: Path of Neo. She also served as the director of Sense8. She is a writer and producer for Jupiter Ascending and Speed Racer. She wrote the screenplay for V for Vendetta and Cloud Atlas.
