Kings of Convenience, made up of singer/guitarist Erik Glambek Bøe and guitarist Erlend Øye, are an indie folk band from Bergen, Norway known for their guitar melodies. The duo was noticed in 1999 after appearing in a series of the European Festival and later signed to the label KinderCare who issued their self-titled debut album. The album versus follow later in 2001 and featured remixes by Ladytron and Four Tet. In 2004 they released their album Riot On An Empty Street. Between the Years 2007 and 2008 they played a few concerts here and there, but were not heard from much. They came back in 2009 with the album Declaration of Dependence.
