Joseph Parker

Joseph Parker was born Joseph Dennis Parker in South Auckland, New Zealand on January 9, 1992. He had 66 fights during his amateur career. He started fighting when he was 12, and he started fighting internationally at 16.

For two years, Parker was the amateur heavyweight champion in New Zealand. He won a bronze medal at the AIBA Youth World Championship. Parker also competed at the Youth Olympics and won a silver medal. He bagged his first gold medal at the Ararufa Games in Australia.

Parker won the NZNBF heavyweight title in 2013. The next year, he won the PABA interim heavyweight title and the WBO Oriental heavyweight title. In 2015, he received the PABA and WBO  Oriental heavyweight title and the OPBF heavyweight title, which was vacant. In the same year, he won the vacant WBA Oceania and EPBC heavyweight titles. He bagged the vacant WBO heavyweight title in 2016.
